Joel Selwood is regarded as one of the greatest players in Geelong’s history. Selwood retires from Australian football as a four-time premiership player and legend of the game. He played 355 games across a 16-year career which included six All Australian selections.Selwood led Geelong to their 2022 Premiership victory - making him a Premiership captain for the first time.The 2022 Premiership Captain Shiraz honours Geelong’s very own “Captain Courageous”.
I am excited to announce that I have teamed up with Ablett Wines to release the 2022 Premiership Captain Shiraz to celebrate Geelong’s premiership. My 355 games and 16 years and 4 cups later have meant everything to me. I feel this commemorative release is the best way for me to say thank-you to every fan in footy who has supported me, and to join me in marking this significant moment, a tenth Cats Premiership. I’m thankful to Ablett Wines and my little mate Gary Ablett Jnr. for giving me this opportunity to say thank-you to the fans.
